“The stepparent label was put on me at children’s school because you had to describe yourself: Who would you be if you weren’t their mother? Very annoying. It’s not the word I use. ”

“I want to make sure I’m consistent in their lives, No matter what personality I tried that day, or whoever I was, I just had to be consistent to get them used to me. He goes on,
“I know that when I married him, I married them. What I realized very fast is you will never, ever, I don’t care if the other parent is dead, you can never replace the other parent. Don’t try to replace another parent. That’s not your job. Your job is consistency. ”
Gabrielle Union concluded by sharing the most valuable lesson he had learned and will continue to follow.
