We have to be honest, we disagree about it.
Back in 2018 we reported on a series of celeb house robberies called Bling Ring 2.0. A small group of thieves got a list of addresses that looked like stars Rihanna, Christina Milian, ug MLB star Yasiel puig and robbed their mansions when they weren’t in town (or in Puig’s case, when he was across town playing at Dodger Stadium). They often use the stars ’social media accounts to find out when they’re coming home.
They made, according to the LAPD, the houses by first going through the neighborhoods of expensive cars and then coming back carrying a much larger number of cars like a van for quick demolition.
The ring finally dumped shortly after the robbery LA Rams wide receiver Robert Woods‘house. The suspects have a list of targets attached LeBron James, Matt Damon, ug Viola Davis – so it’s not as if they have any intention of quitting.
After police recovered $ 50,000 in cash, jewelry, designer bags, and more, they charged the quartet with robbers-which included three teenagers and a mother: Tyress Lavon Williams (19), Jshawne Lamon (19), and Damaji Corey Hall (18), and Hall’s mother – Ashley Hall (34).
It took a long time, more than three years, but the first of the Bling Ring in 2018 to finally be sentenced to prison this week, and it really was a bit of a ghost.
Tyress was the first to face judgment, and she got the most books available thrown at her. Agreed to DailyMail.com, the now 22-year-old, who reminds us that you were still a teenager when he committed these crimes, was sentenced to a shocking ONE YEAR in prison.
After pleading indiscriminately on burglary charges – something that can usually shorten your sentence.
Nine years. Does that sound like too much to others? We have to anticipate the authorities trying to set an example to the accused; due to the high profile nature of the victims, this whole case has made more crime headlines than we thought the city was comfortable with. We got that. but nine years??
A first -degree burglary usually takes a maximum of six years, even if they try to destroy a safe – which we know they did in Puig’s case, because his house was damaged dragging it up the stairs – can be add more time. We don’t know the exact motive behind this sentence, but still. For an offense where everything can be replaced, it seems like a lot.
See, we’re never saying what these people are doing is right or even for no reason. Robbery is not a joke, and these teenagers – especially this mother – deserve to pay for their transgressions.
But look at it this way…
- A mob attacked the Capitol Building on January 6 in an attempt to obstruct our democracy, an action in which several police officers were killed and one civilian was killed. The first of the boys got eight months in prison.
- Lori Loughlin and other parents pleading guilty to fraud and other federal crimes during the college admissions scandal got only two months. And his daughter’s fame became famous Dancing With The Stars.
- Hell, the Stanford rape got only six months nor does it have to serve the entire bid. And he was caught raping a woman.
Months. In all cases. So yes, nine years for burglary, after asking without hesitation not to go down…
Just like, at a time where some people are hit on the wrist, like we have two justice systems.
What do you think, Perezcious paralegals ??
